| Cost of freight | Cost of moving grain and screenings to and from cleaning facility. |
| Cost of handling and storage | Cost of manpower and equipment for handling of grain, seed and screenings plus added cost of seed storage/segregation and blending of screenings if applicable. |
| Cost of money and product quality risk | Carrying cost to hold over product along with ongoing risk of quality retention. |
| Hassle factor to clean seed | Attribute a cost for all your time and management to manage a farm saved seed lot. Take into account opportunity cost for time in this area verses other important activities or even holidays. |
