An outstanding performer across Western Canada, SY Manness is a new, short, semi-dwarf CWRS with outstanding yield potential, it was the highest yielding CWRS in the 2020 Manitoba Crop Variety Evaluation Team (MCVET) trials. It’s a very strong-standing variety (equal to AAC Viewfield) and matures up to two days earlier than AAC Viewfield. SY Manness is resistant to leaf and stem rusts and offers improved protein (similar to Carberry).

Sidney Manness
Sid enlisted in the R.C.A.F. in the fall of 1941 and was trained to be an aero-engine mechanic servicing Anson II Planes. He was discharged in 1945 and returned to the family farm near Domain, MB. Sid has always been a strong supporter of the Legion, and in 1947 was a founding member of the Domain Legion Branch #208.
